Undertale is an indie role-playing game developed by Toby Fox and originally released for PC before making its way to consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. Blending classic RPG design with unconventional mechanics, it quickly gained attention for doing things a little differently.

GAMEPLAY

going into undertake I thought “wow what a generic RPG” but then the battles came attacks are basic BUT when the opponent is attacking it turns into a bullet hell you control a heart and dodge bullets simple on the surface these bullet hell bits really reflect the characters your battling personality you also have the option to try to spare your enemys and not kill them this is discouraged so its a really interesting balance of not wanting to kill anyone and wanting to get stronger

STORY

the story starts out VERY generic like it starts out “kid falls into big hole into monster land” but actually this is one of the best stories I have seen in a game the characters are funny the whole games story is funny and charming in a way no other game has really captured (except maybe the sequel Deltarune) it’s funny outlandish and great I love every single character

ART

now this is the place undertake struggles the character designs are really great but the background art uhhh it needs work its very basic and kinda boring I think the battle ui looks great but
